Scheduling

All schedules for Intramural Sports and Average Joe’s Sports will be posted on the website (www.kingsbaysports.leagueapps.com), and a link to the schedule will be posted on Facebook (www.facebook.com/kingsbaysports). The entire season’s schedule (excluding playoffs) will be posted online the Friday prior to the season starting. Playoff schedules will be updated on a nightly basis on the website, and the captains will be notified via email.

Captains are required to fill out availability for the team on their submitted rosters. The staff will try to make accommodations for each team based on their availability; however, this is not guaranteed throughout the season. During playoffs, no accommodations will be made for teams’ availabilities.

Rescheduling

If a captain sees an issue with the schedule and his team’s availability (due to something work-related), the captain must notify the Sports Coordinator by the Thursday BEFORE the game in question. At that point, the Sports Coordinator will do his best at modifying the schedule to meet the team’s needs. If a captain requests a rescheduled game after the Thursday before the game, the schedule will not be changed, and any missed games will result in a default by the team with the scheduling conflict.

Games cancelled due to weather or unforeseeable conditions, those games will be tacked on to the end of the regular season before playoffs begin.

Weather

Games may be canceled due to inclement weather at any time. Game cancellations made by Kings Bay Sports staff will be made the day of by 1500. These decisions will be communicated to captains via email as well as communicated to players via Facebook (www.facebook.com/kingsbaysports). After 1500, game cancellations will be made by the officials, and the Sports Coordinator will use email and Facebook to communicate those decisions to captains and players. If you do no hear anything via email or Facebook, assume the game will be played as scheduled.

Games that have started play may be suspended/rescheduled due to inclement weather. In the event the weather becomes worse and suspended games may no longer be played, one of two things will happen. If the game has completed the first HALF of the game (4th inning, softball), the score will stand as is, and the game will count as completed. However, if the game has not completed the entire first half, the game will be rescheduled due to inclement weather and played from the BEGINNING.

Forfeits

Failure to Show Up/Not Enough Players

Game time is forfeit time. There will be no grace period, because Kings Bay Sports must stick to a strict schedule. After a team’s second forfeit, the team will be removed from the league. When there is a forfeit due to a team not having enough players, that team will receive a “2” for their sportsmanship rating; however, the opponent will receive a “4” for their sportsmanship rating.

DoD teams that forfeit once will be required to pay a $25 forfeit fee within 48 hours of the forfeit or by noon of the next game day (whichever comes first), or the team will be removed from the league. Active Duty teams who forfeit once will automatically lose half of their team’s forfeit deposit fee paid at the beginning of the season. Active Duty teams who forfeit twice will lose their forfeit deposit fee in full, and the team will not be refunded any money at the end of the season. After any team’s second forfeit, the team will be removed from the league.

Forfeit fees must be paid by cash or debit card to the equipment desk at the Fitness Center. The captain should request an extra copy of the receipt, so he may provide proof of payment to the Sports Coordinator.

Unsportsmanlike Penalties

If a team accrues four unsportsmanlike penalties, that team will immediately forfeit the game. Forfeit fees apply to teams who forfeit due to poor sportsmanship. Additionally, if a team forfeits a game due behavior outside the “spirit of competition,” the Sport Coordinator will place the player(s) and/or team on probation. If deemed necessary for the safety and wellbeing of the staff, officials, players, and spectators, the Sports Coordinator has full authority to eject a team from the league due to forfeiting a game from unsportsmanlike penalties. A game forfeited due to unsporting behavior will also result in a “0” for the team’s sportsmanship rating.

*If a player is ejected from play, and the team no longer meets the minimum number of players required to play, the team may continue to play the game SO LONG AS the team acts in a dignified manner, within the “spirit of competition,” and the team stills maintains a chance to win. This will be at the discretion of the officials.

Defaults

A default is an un-played game that results in a loss for the offending team. However, the committing team will not be charged a forfeit fee. Neither team will receive a sportsmanship rating for a defaulted game. Captains must request a game default by 1400 game day. Teams should only request a default game if they are unable to field enough players for a game in which the time frame for requesting a schedule change has elapsed.
