Game, Field, Players, & Equipment
-
-
The game will be played by teams of 5 players each.
-
Each team must have a minimum of 4 players at the start of each game to start. Game time is forfeit time. Failure to provide 4 players at game time will result in a forfeit.
-
You may finish a game with less than 4 players as long as the referees determine you still have a chance to win, and no one’s safety/wellbeing is being compromised (injuries only, not due to sportsmanship issues).
-
-
Each team has a designated captain. This person is the only person who is to approach officials throughout the game.
-
Prior to the game, there will be a captains’ meeting with the officials to discuss the upcoming game.
-
All players must wear matching colored jerseys. If teams do not have jerseys, pennies will be provided by Kings Bay Sports.
-
All jewelry must be removed prior to play. Players may only wear soft, pliable pads on legs, knees, or ankles.
-
Game balls will be provided; however, game balls CANNOT be used for warm-ups.
-
Only players are allowed to be on the score table side. All other individuals are required to sit in the stands.
-
Players on the sideline are required to sit with the exception of the captain.

Periods, Time Factors, Substitutions
-
-
Games will consist of (2) twenty minutes halves.
-
The clock will stop in the last two minutes of the second half.
-
-
The length of halftime will be five minutes.
-
The clock will run continuously with the exception of timeouts, injuries, and at the officials’ discretion.
-
There will be no overtime during regular season.
-
Teams get two timeouts per half, and timeouts do not carry over from period to period.
-
Only captains and players on the court may call a timeout.
-
Timeouts are one minute in length.
-
-
During the playoffs, we will use overtime.
-
-
Each overtime will consist of a three minute period.
-
Teams will be allowed one timeout per overtime.
-
Overtime will run continuously with the clock stopping the last one minute of each overtime period.
-
-
-
Substitutes should go to the score table and get down, so the scorekeeper may still see the game.
-
Wait until the referee waives you on the court before entering as a substitute.
-
-
-
Scoring
-
-
There will be a scorekeeper present at each game. It is the captains’ responsibility to turn in a list of present players WITH THEIR NUMBER to the scorekeeper TEN minutes prior to the jump ball.
-
First and last names required.
-
No nicknames.
-
-
Mercy Rule: When a team is up by 30 points in the last five minutes or 20 points in the last two minutes, the game will be called.
-
If the officials think a team is playing down to prevent mercy rule, the officials may call the game at that point due to their discretion.
