Liability Waivers

All participants for Kings Bay Sports will be required to sign a waiver prior to participation in any sports, programs, or special events. The waiver states:

For and in consideration of the use of participation in the MWR sponsored recreation program, event, activity, or facility, herein described as INTRAMURAL SPORTS, the undersigned does agree to, release, waive, indemnify, exonerate, hold harmless and defend the United States of America, the United States Navy, the Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, and the MWR organization and their assigns for any claims, demands, and causes of action (including defense costs and attorney’s fees) arising out of or pertaining to any loss, damage, injury or death sustained by the undersigned, the undersigned’s children or family and caused by any negligent act or act of omission, or breach of duty related to the MWR recreational activity, program, or event identified above, or suit is based on or alleged to be based on or in part, the negligent act or act of mission, or similar conduct of those parties hereby released and indemnified.

Injuries

Kings Bay Sports will provide at least one supervisor for all events/competitions. This person will be certified in CPR/First Aid/AED. Additionally, there will be a First Aid Kit and AED onsite at all times. In the event of a serious injury, play will stop as soon as possible at the discretion of the officials. At that point, players and spectators are asked to give the injured person space, so the supervisor may provide proper care. If a game is stopped due to an injury, the player(s) injured must leave the field for at least one play. Additionally, if care is given for an injured individual, the supervisor will fill out an Accident Report documenting the incident and recording witnesses.

*If a player is deemed no longer able to play due to an injury, and the team no longer meets the minimum number of players required to play, the team may continue to play the game SO LONG AS the team still maintains a chance to win. This will be at the discretion of the officials. Otherwise the game will be called, with the score as is.

Blood

Any player with an open wound or visible blood on their body or clothing must remove himself from the game immediately. He will not be able to return to play until there is no more visible blood. The supervisor will have a First Aid kit on site at all times, and he will be able to assist with covering the visible blood. Although clothing with blood will not be allowed on the field of play, all participants must still adhere to clothing regulations for each sport (i.e. no pockets for flag football.

Tobacco, Alcohol, and Drugs

No drugs will be tolerated at any time, in any place.

Tobacco and alcohol will only be permitted in certain areas. Tobacco and alcohol are not permitted on fields/courts or in player seating areas (i.e. dugouts). Debris from tobacco must be disposed of properly in a tobacco canister. Individuals deemed inebriated will not be allowed to participate in Intramural Sports, and will be asked by the supervisor to leave the sight and sound of the facility. Failure to leave the premises in a timely manner will result in security being called. This will be enforced by the judgment of the officials and Kings Bay Sports Staff, and their decision is final.

Fighting

Fighting is strictly prohibited at any Kings Bay Sports affiliated event. Those who attempt to start a fight or participate in a fight will be escorted off the premises immediately – out of sight and sound. Any participants included in the situation will automatically be ejected from the game (by officials or Kings Bay staff) and suspended the next two games minimum. The Sports Coordinator has the right to eject these individuals from the league completely and/or place the team on probation and/or eject the team from the league if deemed necessary. The Sports Coordinator’s decision will be final.
