  1. Players, Substitutions,  & Equipment

 

  1.  
    1. Teams must have a minimum of eight players in order to start the game, up to ten players in the field.

      1. Teams with only eight players will start as the away team despite what the schedule states.

    2. Each team may have two EHs (extra hitters). The EH may switch out with any fielder during any point in the game. Teams that begin with an EH must finish with an EH or else an out will be recorded at the EH’s turn to bat.

    3. Starters may only re-enter the game once.

      1. They must be in the batting position in which they started. Substitutes cannot re-enter the game once they leave the batting order.

    4. Each team has a designated captain. This person is the only person who is to approach officials throughout the game.

    5. Cleats must be rubber – no metal allowed.

    6. Each game will start with one used ball and one new ball. Teams must retrieve their own homeruns. Balls must be 12”, 44 COR, .375.

    7. Only bats with an ASA stamp will be allowed for use.

    8. All players, bats, gloves, and other equipment must remain in the dugout when that team is batting.

      1. The only people allowed outside of the dugout are the batter, on-deck batter, and two base coaches.

      2. If a live ball hits a player on the hitting team or any equipment of the hitting team, the ball is dead immediately and all runners must return the base last legally touched.

    9. Gates should be closed at all times.

    10. A person from the home team will be required to keep score.

    11. Teams are only allowed one pinch runner per inning.

      1. Exception: Injuries that occur during the game.

 

  1. Time Factors

    1. Games will be played to seven innings or 55 minutes. No inning should begin after time has expired.

      1. In the event of a tie, extra innings will only be played during the playoffs.  

    2. Mercy Rule: up 20 runs in the third inning, up 15 runs in the 4th inning, up 10 runs in the 5th inning.

    3. There will be no extra innings during the regular season. The game will end in a tie.

    4. Championship game(s) will be played to 7 innings. If there is a tie, extra innings will be played until the tie is broken. Run rules still applies.

 


 

Game Play

 

  1.  
    1. All batters begin with a 1 and 1 count.

      1. If you foul off a 3rd strike, you are given one extra swing. If you foul again, you are out.

    2. A batting lineup must consist of a minimum of 8 people, and a maximum of 12 people.

      1. There will be NO automatic out for a lineup with 8 or 9 people.

    3. Lead-offs, stealing, and bunting are no permitted.

      1. A base runner on first or second may come off the bag for safety; however, he must tell the official as well as tag the base prior to advancing on a live ball.

    4. Pitches must arch at least 6 feet from release, no higher than 10 feet, and cross the plate between the batter’s shoulders and knees.

      1. Pitchers are required to stand behind the pitching screen. The pitching screen may be place up to five feet in front of the pitching rubber – at the pitcher’s discretion. He is liable for his own safety.

    5. There will be no feet first sliding with the intention to “take-out” another player and break up a double play. A player can be ejected for an illegal slide. This is a judgment call, and it cannot be appealed.

    6. At first base, there will be a white base and an orange base. The runner must use the orange base, and the fielder must use the white base when there is a play at first base.

    7. Teams will be limited to 3 homeruns per game. After a team hits 3 homeruns, each homerun afterward will be considered an automatic OUT.

    8. When a ball hits the pitcher’s screen, the ball is dead immediately, and the pitch does not count against the batter.

      1. When a batter hits the screen a second time, he is out.

    9. When a live ball hits the pitching screen due to a defensive player’s fielding, the ball will remain live.

 

  1. CoRec Clarifications

 

All CoRec clarifications will over-rules any gender-specific rules.

 

  1.  
    1. Teams are required to have a minimum of eight players in order to start play – minimum of three women.

      1. One woman MUST play infield.

      2. One woman MUST play outfield.

      3. One woman MUST play pitcher or catcher.

    2. Each team may have one female extra hitter and one male extra hitter. A team may not have two extra hitters of the same gender.

    3. There may be a maximum of two male batters back-to-back in the lineup; otherwise the team will be required to take an automatic out.

      1. Exception: The 10th spot in the lineup may go to either a male or female batter.

    4. Male batters (with a female next in the batting lineup) who are walked automatically go to second base.

      1. Less than two outs – the next batter must hit.

      2. Two outs – the next batter has the option to walk to first or hit.

      3. When a male batter is walked, and he is followed in the lineup by another male batter, he will only walk to first.

    5. There will be a 200’ arc in the outfield. When a FEMALE batter is up to bat, the four infielders must be in the dirt, and the 4 outfielders must remain BEHIND the 200’ arc.

      1. Outfielders may advance in front of the 200’ arc on contact.

      2. Infielders may advance into the grass on contact.
