Captains' Responsibilities

Team captains and assistant captains are the individuals on each team responsible for communicating with the staff about scheduling, questions, concerns, and/or conflicts as well as responsible for communicating all policies, procedures, rules and regulations to the rest of the team. Captains and assistant captains are the voices of the team, and these individuals should be the only one to approach officials on the field. Team captains are required to provide a valid email address and a valid phone number on the team roster for the Sports Coordinator to utilize for communication purposes. Captains are REQUIRED to attend the MANDATORY captains’ meeting prior to the start of the season (if a captain or assistant captain cannot attend, a representative from the team must attend the meeting). The team captain is the only team member who may officially protest a call. It is the team captain’s responsibility to verify the eligibility of each player on his team.

Team captains are responsible for the conduct of their teams, including the teams’ spectators. If a team captain is unable to control the behavior of his team, spectators and/or himself, the Sports Coordinator has the right to place the team on probation and suspend/eject the captain from the league or eject the team from the league.
